DrivAer validation case - Automotive simulation

Drivaer

In this tutorial, we simulate the DrivAer car model. You will learn about,

  • Running steady external aerodynamics automotive simulations.
  • Setting boundary conditions for rotating wheels and moving ground.
  • Non-uniform field initialization using potentialFoam.
  • Setting the thermophysical properties for the working fluid.
  • Adding a source term to limit the maximum values of the velocity field.
  • Setting a robust numeric for external aerodynamics flow simulations.
  • Adjusting the SIMPLE loop to improve accuracy.
  • Sampling and plotting

You can download the case files at this link.
