A warm welcome to the Turbulence Technical Committee's wiki page! As part of the OpenFOAM Governance structure our job is to advance the turbulence modelling capabilities of OpenFOAM. Here, you can find information about us, our current activities and also how to get in touch.

Members of the Committee

There are currently seven committee members, led by Charles Mockett who acts as chairman.

How to Contact Us

To contact the committee, we suggest that you open an issue on the OpenFOAM Gitlab, where you describe your potential contribution. Issues relevant to turbulence are likely to get picked up by the committee for discussion, but the dialogue can commence already in the comments to the issue. If you want to make sure our attention is drawn, add an @timofeymukha tag inside the issue. In case you prefer more traditional ways of communicating, you can always simply send one of the members an e-mail.

Our Workflow

The committee holds quarterly online meetings typically lasting about two hours. In between the meetings, we carry out planned activities and keep in touch via a Slack-like environment. An important part of the work is formulating code improvement proposals to the Steering Committee, which makes the final decision. We also run a code repository associated with the committee. Currently, it is empty but the idea is to stage potential contributions to the main code and also preserve things that are removed from the code but my still be of interest to some parts of the turbulence modelling community.

Implemented Contributions

- New multiphase turbulence stabilization
